We’re home. It was an amazing weekend. The best crop of apples we’ve seen yet!! I think we eat as many in the orchard as we bring home!!
Tate was a little too sleepy to eat any. Maybe next year…

We are coming up on one of our favorite weekends of the year. This weekend is our 7th annual apple picking trip. The first year we went , Brigg was just 3 months old!! And there were 6 adults and 1 baby. This year there will be 10 adults and FIVE children!! This is the first year we actually rented a log house. Here it is…

We all meet there tonight and tomorrow we spend the day at a pick-your-own apple orchard. We will all watch the Hawkeye game together and grill out for supper. It makes for GREAT photos and tons of memories. Some of our best are from this weekend each year. So off I go to try and get everything together and packed up so we are ready to take off shortly after Brigg gets out of school. We’ll head up to pick Paul up at work. This kids are bursting at the seams in anticipation!! Photos to come, I’m sure!!

I don’t know if anyone is quite as aware of this as I am, but the holidays are coming. I have been patiently (or not so patiently) awaiting the arrival of Halloween. As soon as I saw the first set of Halloween decorations in someone’s yard in town, my heart skipped a beat. Now I LOVE Halloween, but the reason my heart skipped a beat is because once Halloween arrives, I have 2 weeks until my BABY arrives!! I know it is approaching quickly, but you need to remember that I found out I was pregnant in MARCH. That’s a long long time ago! It seemed like November was a decade away. So today I went to Wal-Mart to do my party/apple picking shopping and not only has Halloween arrived, CHRISTMAS has almost arrived!! Coffee Mate officially has it’s holiday creamers out on the shelves (which is exciting in and of itself!!) I bought peppermint mocha…my favorite! So I am reminding myself to enjoy these last weeks. This is the very last time I will feel a baby kicking me from the inside…EVER. And when she finally does arrive, I know I will feel sad and a bit empty inside. (I know anyone who has heard me complaining in recent days is laughing right now at the thought of me being sad to have this baby OUTSIDE of my body! I just forget sometimes what that really means.) So here’s to remembering to cherish each of these final days of my pregnancy!

Feeling better today. Last night I watched Private Practice (which is a spin-off of Grey’s) and I kinda liked it!
Paul was totally annoyed. He had to leave. But his co-worker let him borrow the movie Wild Hogs and we watched it last night. I haven’t laughed that hard for a long time (ok jody…at least a few days!). There were a couple parts that I was actually laughing so hard that I was crying. And of course I think Paul started laughing and me laughing and then neither of us could stop.
Tonight is my big Grey’s Anatomy party and I’m getting things together for that. Although it is at my house, my mom has been very helpful and showed up at my door with all the cute little details necessary to pull off a party!
You know, table cloth, paper plates, homemade carmel corn and a pitcher. I have been quite pathetic the past few days, so I think she’s feeling sorry for me. That works! I’m excited for the big premier!!
We leave tomorrow for our apple picking trip. I have quite a bit to do to prepare for that as well, but I love this kind of stuff! Planning, organizing, etc. So I’m busy and better today. Looking forward to a great night and weekend!!

20 weeks…
24 weeks…
28 weeks…
32 weeks…
Now that is one very stretchy shirt!

just been down in the dumps the past couple of days. i’m blaming it on hormones. don’t have too much to report. hoping that the big Grey’s party tomorrow pulls me out of this icky place and snaps me out of my poor attitude. we have a busy weekend ahead with our 7th annual apple picking trip and i’m ready for a weekend away with family!

I must be pathetic. Becky sent me flowers. They came at a perfect time. Thank you for being my friend…

Brigg’s teeth are clean…back in 6 months.
Lani is healthy and growing…back in 1 year for shots. She IS still blind in her left eye. This was confirmed with the nurse did the eye chart with her and she called the gigantic ship at the top of the chart a heart…with a huge smile on her face. I do believe the nurse was shocked! She asked, “Is she legally blind in that eye?” Ummmm…what do you think? She called a 10 inch black pirate ship a HEART!
Baby is healthy and growing…back in 2 weeks.
Brigg is too skinny…back in 6 months. Apparently he is right at the 50th percentile for height, but falls in the 2nd percentile for weight. Which means we need to try and bulk him up in the next 6 months so the doctor doesn’t think I’m horrible. I’m not quite sure how to do this, but she did give me some tips to try. I’m pretty sure it’s hereditary and Paul seems to remember drinking special shakes and things trying to gain some weight. So we are hoping within the next 6 months Brigg gains some poundage and I LOSE some poundage!
Overall, a good day of appointments and running around. As for today…back to reality and back to school for Brigg.

I’m pretty sure that a No School Day is supposed to be fun and you’re supposed to do something out of the ordinary to celebrate, but not today. I have a doctor appointment at 9:30, Brigg has a dentist appointment at 10:30, Brigg and Lani both have doctor appointments at 1:00, Brigg has TKD at 4:30 and Paul and I have our small group at 6:00. So we’ll be running around most of the day. Oh well…we plan something exciting next time! For today, I am feeling pretty excited about getting all these appointments out of the way before baby arrives!

At Nalani’s preschool they go on one field trip a month. This month they went to the buffalo farm. One of the best things about staying home is that I get to go on these trips with them. I love it! So I told Lani before we left the house she had five minutes to get her things together and we were leaving for her trip to the buffalo farm. She came out with all the necessary things a 4-year old needs to take to the farm…a spiral princess notebook, white diamond-studded sunglasses, her pink cell phone, and pink lip gloss not only ON her lips, but all around her whole lip area. She had a blast!
